CITY of ORONO
Ptist Office lU>x 6(}«Crystal liay. Minnesota 5532.1 •Municipal Offices
On the North Shore of Lake Minnetonka
September 10, 1982
Mr. V. E. McCoy
1425 Bay Ridge Road
Wayzata, MN 55391
Dear Mr. McCoy:
Alan Olson has asked me to respond to your letter of
August 30, 1982. Alan knows that I am familiar with your
property, in fact, that I did indeed meet with you a few years
back to discuss the buildability of the subject property.
Unfortunately, I have witnessed no change in the Council's
position on substandard lots of common ownership as a member
of the Orono staff for four years now. As Zoning Administrator,
I wish I could be more positive recognizing completely the
concerns addressed in your letter.
The question of the buildability of Tract A, R.L.S. 192,
can only be decided by the Council and to begin that process
you must file a lot area and lot width variance application
with the City. I would be happy to meet with you at the office
to discuss the variance application but once again I must
advise such an application is not realistic at this time.
At a recent meeting. Council discussed the possible
need to establish less restrictive standards for substandard
lots under common ownership. Per our current ordinance 100ss
of all lot standards of a zoning district is required. It
may be more advantageous for you to wait it out a few more
months to see what affects this proposed amendment may have
on your property.
Please call my office if you have any questions or if you
wish to schedule a meeting with me at the City offices.
Sincerely,
Jean A.
