MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> Monday,August 22,2022 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present:Mayor <br /> Dennis Walsh,City Council Members Matt Johnson,Aaron Printup,Richard Crosby III, and Victoria <br /> Seals.Representing Staff were City Attorney Soren Mattick, City Administrator/Engineer Adam <br /> Edwards,Public Works Superintendent David Goman,Finance Director Ron Olson,and Community <br /> Development Director Laura Oakden. <br /> Mayor Walsh called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 1. CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF AUGUST 8,2022 <br /> 2. CLAIMSBILLS <br /> 3. APPROVAL OF RENTAL LICENSE <br /> 4. AUTHORIZATION TO ACCEPT RESIGNATION—MIKE WOCKEN <br /> 5. APPROVAL TO ACCEPT DONATION—NATIONAL NIGHT OUT <br /> 6. APPROVAL TO APPOINT POLICE SERGEANT COLIN HENNESSY <br /> 7. APPROVAL TO APPOINT COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER JULIA KNAPEK <br /> 8. APPROVAL OF INSTALLATION OF CONCRETE CURBING AND THE <br /> REPLACEMENT OF A ROAD CULVERT(22-027) <br /> Crosby moved,Seals seconded,to approve the Consent Agenda as submitted.VOTE: Ayes 5,Nays <br /> 0. <br /> Crosby noted the donation to the Police Department by Pelican Point in Mound was very generous and <br /> the City and Police Department really appreciate it. It is terrific recognition of what a great job the <br /> department does and of community involvement. He thanked them. <br /> CITY ADMINISTRATOR/ENGINEER REPORT <br /> 9. Fire Department Equipment Procurement—CMD 2 (22-047) <br /> City Administrator/Engineer Edwards stated the City of Orono has been going back-and-forth with the <br /> City of Long Lake on procurement of two command vehicles for the Long Lake Fire Department. The <br /> City Council of Orono voted to approve the procurement of both trucks subject to them both being owned <br /> and titled to Orono.The City of Long Lake directed their Attorney to send a letter which is included in <br /> the packet and ask that one truck is 100%Orono's and the other truck would be purchased in accordance <br /> with the 2002 Fire Contract which is a joint ownership model where the City of Orono would end up with <br /> about 85%and the remainder would be split between Long Lake and Medina.Edwards is looking for <br /> direction from the City Council. <br /> Page 1 of 9 <br />
