MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />'4NN;'NG COMMISSION OF THE VILLAGE OF ORONO <br />HELD AT THE VILLAGE HALL <br />AUGUST 309 1962 <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman D. J. <br />Russell at 7x30 P.Mc with the following members present: <br />Vi m.A.Curry9H :S.Rice,W.W.Wolfe9WM.T.Mille and D. S. <br />-Cleveland.Al.so present was D.J.Boll,Village C1erk.Lates <br />S.B.Belt,SeleO <br />BROWN °S BAY <br />In Fa discussion of the Brown's bay commercial area <br />it was recommended that no further permits for commercial, <br />devel.opr.ert or sale of 3.2 beer be approved until the <br />Parkin6 situation has been improved. <br />'one question of the need for professional counsel on <br />a sti:dy of this area was discussed and it was agreed that <br />the results of the study made by Mr. James Hawks should be <br />utilized and.if need beghis further services employed. It <br />war further decided that members of the Commission be <br />present at the meeting of the West Hennepin Planning Com= <br />scission on Sept.27,1962 at the Elem.Schoo190rono,at which <br />time questions might be directed to Mr. Hawks from the <br />floor. . <br />' NEXT REGULAR MEETING <br />Since the next regular meeting of 'the Planning Com- <br />mission on Sept.2791962 coincides with that of the West <br />Hennepin body,it was agreed to meet at the Orono Elem- <br />entary School at 7:00 P.M. and the Secretary was instruct- <br />ed to make the necessary arrangements. <br />MAXWELL BAY <br />The matter of the study of the commercial area of <br />Maxwell Bay was discussed. Village Clerk,D.J.Boll intro- <br />duced the petition of residents of the eastern portion of <br />this area requesting rezoning to residential use. <br />Also called to the attention of the Commission was the <br />plan presented to the Council by Mr.L.Hork for two 17 unit <br />apartment buildings in the above area. The sanitation prom <br />blemsgin particular, were open to question. <br />ZONING CODE AMENDMENT <br />The matter of the need for amending the zoning code of <br />the Village of Orono was presented by D.J.Boll who pointed <br />out recommended changes and illustrated by excerpts from <br />the zoning code of the Village of Golden Valley.Particularly <br />under discussion were the subjects of district zoning,off— <br />street parking and the need for code definitions. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further busin:ess,the meeting was adjourn- <br />ed at 11000 P.M. <br />S.
