One of the responsibilities of the watershed district is to regulate activities within the
floodplain (931.5'and below). T1e watershed district violations include: failure to obtain a watershed
district permit for a sandblanket and fill within the floodplain (plastic and sand)
A DNR violation has also occurred as removal/destruction of aquatic vegetation is not permitted unless
an Aquatic Management Permit is obtained from the DNR Area Fisheries. All work permitted by the
watershed district must be done by a contractor licensed with the watershed district. A list of current
licensed contractor's is attached for your use.
The managers were informed of the above violations at the October 26 Complaints and Violations
Committee meeting. I have been directed by the board to notify you of the violations and suggest that
you attend the November 21 Complaints &Violations Meeting. The meeting will be held at 6:OOpm in
the Gray's Bay Room in the Minnetonka Community Center in Minnetonka.
The remedial steps to resolve this issue will be determined by the board of managers. Thank you.
Sicerely,
''' ;n
, ,v ,"
Suzann Weedman
Assi t District Director
encl.
CC: Woody Love, Chair, Complaints & Violations Committee
John Thomas, President, Board of Managers
Lyle Oman, Building Official
Bruce Vang, Field Inspector
Joe Richter, DNR-Waters
s
za
60'Zfte<<led • 3U..P»-n,i.-nr
