APR-3-2008 02:02P FROM:LONG LAKE PUBLIC WKS 952 4762856 TO:9522494616 P.2
MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND INDUSTRY
Division of Construction Codes and Licensing
REPORT ON PLANS
Plans and specifications on storm sewer and draintile: Orono High School -Track and Field Improvements, 685
Old Crystal Bay Road,Long Lake,Hennepin County,Minnesota,Plan No. 086925
OWNERSHIP: Independent School District No.278,c/o Ms.Karen Orcutt,Superintendent,P.O.Box 46,
Long Lake,Minnesota 55356-0046
SUBMITTER(S): Anderson-Johnson Associates,Inc., 7575 Golden Valley Road, Suite 200,Minneapolis,
Minnesota 55427
Plans Dated: January 8,2008
Date Received: March 14,2008
Date Reviewed: March 31, 2008
SCOPE: The plans and specifications describe the water service and building sewer connections for the
referenced facility. The review is limited to the design of this particular project only, and does not cover the
plumbing within the building. The review is based upon the supposition that the data on which the design is
based are correct, and that necessary legal authority has been obtained to construct the project. The
responsibility for the design of structural features and the efficiency of equipment must be taken by the project
designer. Approval is contingent upon satisfactory disposition of any requirements included in this report.
Special care should be taken to insure that the material and installation are in accordance with the provisions of
the Minnesota Plumbing Code and applicable licensing requirements.
INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations, including water service and building sewers, must be tested and
inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. It is the responsibility of the
contractor/installer to notify the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry when an installation for a state
contract job, licensed facility,or project in an area where there is no local administrative authority is ready for an
inspection and test. To schedule inspections, contact the state plumbing standards representative for your region,
or call Jim Peterson at 651/284-5889.
REQUIREMENT(S):
1. The discharge of an existing exterior water fountain appears to be shown discharging to the storm sewer
system on the Utility Plan, Sheet No. C7. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency(MPCA)has
determined that the discharge from a drinking fountain is wastewater and must receive proper treatment.
This means the outdoor drinking fountain must be served by an individual sewage treatment system in
compliance with Minnesota Rules,Chapter 7080 or it must discharge above grade in order to visibly see any
possible contamination. Please verify that a code complying plumbing system will be installed.
2. The RCP and PVC specified for the storm sewer must comply with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0540. No
quality standards for these materials are provided on the submitted plans.
3. Materials used for the subsoil (draintile)drains must comply with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0620. No
quality standard for this material is provided on the submitted plans.
4. The storm sewer installation must be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820.
