The review is based upon the supposition that the data on which <br /> the design is based are correct, and that necessary legal authority has been obtained to construct the project. <br /> The responsibility for the design of structural features and the efficiency of equipment must be taken by the <br /> project designer. Approval is contingent upon satisfactory disposition of any requirements included in this <br /> report. Special care should be taken to insure that the material and installation of the plumbing system are in <br /> accordance with the provisions of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. A copy of the approved plans and <br /> specifications should be retained at the project location for future reference. <br /> INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements <br /> of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. As specified in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2830, no plumbing work may be <br /> covered prior to completing the required tests and inspections. Provisions must be made for applying an air <br /> test at the time of the roughing-in inspection as outlined in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820, subpart 2, of the <br /> code. A manometer test, as specified in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820, subpart 3, is required at the time of <br /> the finished plumbing inspection. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to notify the State Health <br /> Department when the installation will be ready for a test and inspection. To schedule inspections, contact the <br /> state plumbing standards representative for your region, or call the metro office at 1-800-926-6216, or <br /> Gary Topp at 651/215-0841. <br /> REQUIREMENT(S): <br /> 1. The location of the project is within a city of population greater than 5000. Therefore, the plans must be <br /> signed by either an engineer that is registered in the state of Minnesota or signed and installed by a <br /> licensed master plumber who is installing the plumbing. <br /> 2. Verify that the sinks are installed in accordance with the Minnesota Plumbing Code. <br /> 3. It is recommended that a cleanout be provided where new waste and vent piping connects with existing <br /> plumbing to facilitate required testing of the new installation. <br /> 4. The water piping system shall be disinfected in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2250. The <br /> plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820. <br /> 5. Materials used for the plumbing system shall comply with the standards set in the Minnesota Plumbing <br /> Code (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0420). <br />
