Searles appeared before REPRESENTATIVE SEARI�ES <br /> the City Council to request cooperation in develop- Tax Help <br /> ing an improved real estate tax program for • <br /> Diinne sota. <br /> Representative �earles' principal point was that <br /> Minnesota taxation levels are excessive and that <br /> focusing public disapproval on the real estate <br /> tax is really unfair to local government. "Records <br /> show that the closer government is to the average <br /> taxpayer the more care is used by a -public body . � <br /> in the use of public money," he said. "The greatest ''S <br /> area of waste and misuse of public money in the � <br /> United States really begins in Washington and is <br /> duplicated certainly in the State of Minnesota in <br /> the State Capitol with the indiscriminate use of <br /> state revenues for raarginal or counter-productive <br /> `purposes.
