� CITY OF ORONO <br /> Work Session of the Orono Council and Planning 7: 00 P.M. <br /> � Commission, April 14 , 1977 ' <br /> � The Orono City Council and Planning Commission <br /> . met on the above date with the following <br /> members present: Councilmembers Butler and <br /> ! Massengale. Absent: P4ayor Van Nest, Council- <br /> members Paurus and Welsh. Planning Commission <br /> � members present: Dunlap, Guthrie, Hassel and <br /> Pesek. Absent: Hannah, Hosfield, and McDonald. <br /> S Also present: City Administrator Benson, Assist- <br /> ant Building & Zoning Administrator Olson, City <br /> � Attorney Malkerson, and City Engineer Frank. <br /> � The City Council and Planning Commission reviewed ON-SITE DISPOSAL <br /> � on-site disposal system regulations. Acting Mayor SYSTET�IS _ <br /> Massengale discussed proposed testing of newly <br /> � constructed wells, previously constructed wells <br /> and a continuing program to monitor all wells in <br /> � the City of Orono to assure that they are not <br /> • being contaminated by on-site disposal systems. <br /> � City Engineer Frank commented that presently <br /> there are 1,200 on-site disposal systems in Orono <br /> � that should be inspected to assure that they function <br /> proper�y to today' s standards. <br /> � <br /> • Assistant Building & Zoning Administrator Olson <br /> comr:iented that it will take three years to establish <br /> • a workable inspection routine and health hazards , <br /> have to be documented with a followup of correcting <br /> � measures to insure proper operation. <br /> � Acting Mayor Massengale stated that Orono should <br /> establish a time frame to complete a sound on-site <br /> � disposal ordinance defining new installations and <br /> • maintenance standards while reviewing all fee <br /> schedules includin� license fees and billing methods. <br /> � City staff was instructed to proceed immediately. <br /> ` The City Council, Planning Commission and staff PLATTIi1G ORDINANCE <br /> � discussed the proposed platting ordinance as it <br /> relates to Registered Land Surveys and platting, <br /> � simple subdivisions and required surveys. <br /> � Acting Mayor Massengale requested the Planning <br /> � Commission to interview a registered surveyor for <br /> his input to this platting ordinance. <br /> • The Work Session adjourned at 10: 10 P.M.
