�. . <br /> A � y VILLAGE OF ORONO <br /> � Regular ��7ee�ting of the Village Council, 7e 30 P.T�i. <br /> January 14, 1974 <br /> � <br /> The Village Council met on the above date <br /> � with the following members present: B2ayor <br /> Searles, Councilmen �utler, tTassengale, <br /> r Paurus, and V��elsh. <br /> • <br /> � I3utler moved, ��Jelsh seconded, that the MINUTES <br /> I�tinutes of the Reqular i�ieeting of Dec^��er 10, <br /> � 1973, be approved, P�iotion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . <br /> � <br /> • :iro Frec� Curtis appeared before the Village FRED CURTIS <br /> Council and introduced himself as an applicant <br /> � for consideration to being appointed to the <br /> Orono Planning Commission. <br /> • <br /> � i�Ir. George I�Iastny, Chairman of the Orono Park GEORGE 11ASTNY REPORT <br /> Commission, appeared before the Council to <br /> • discuss a proposed parks systems analysis <br /> � program. The Council agreed to give cohsideration <br /> to the systems analysis proposal as presented <br /> � by Brauer & Associates as well as investigate <br /> other planning services that the Village may <br /> � be able to useo This item will be brought up <br /> again at the January 28, 1974 agenda for <br /> • Council consideration. Tire Mastny also <br /> � presented a report on property valuations of <br /> a �iece of propoerty at Stubbs Bay that the <br /> � Park Commission is considering for future park <br /> propertye i10 set time was made on the purchase. <br /> � P�Zr. T�iastny also informed the Council that <br /> Dr. Panuska felt the time had come to hold an <br /> • informational public hearing concerning the Luce <br /> Line Trail for those individuals who had property <br /> f that bordered on the trail. One night during <br /> � the first or second week in February was the <br /> time that the hearing hopefully could be held. <br /> � <br /> • The Council also discussed with I�Zr. Mastny the <br /> possibility of reorganizing the membership of <br /> � the Park Commission from its current eleven <br /> members down to nine members. i�ir o i�Iastny <br /> � thought that this proposal had some advantagas <br /> and that he would like to discuss this with the <br /> • other members of the Park Commissiono <br /> • <br /> T°�elsh moved, Butler seconded, to reorganize the REORGANIZE PLANNING <br /> � Planning Commission from eleven members to nine cOMMISSION <br /> � members. The two positions that would be eliminated <br /> were the ones occupied by A2r. Kokesh, whose term <br /> • ex�ired on January 1, 1974, and P�ro Searles, whose <br /> term would ha•ve expired on January 1, 1975. The <br /> � Village Council further instructed the Village Attorney <br /> to bring forth at the next Council meeting a proposed <br />� (Co»�inued) <br />
