The following Council <br /> members were present: Mayor Searles, Paurus. The follow- <br /> • ing Planning Comnission members were present: Chairman <br /> Guthrie, Van Nest, Gasch. <br /> i <br /> � It was noted that this work session meeting had been <br /> announced at the regular meeting of the City Council held <br /> � on Dec�er 10, 1974. <br /> � The members present held a general discussion concerning B-2 Uses <br /> the proposed B-Z uses as set forth in section 6 of the <br /> � prnposed ordinance to amend the Zoning Code. Mayor Searles <br /> noted that the marina operators had requested that the <br /> • Camcil consider establishing various classes of marina <br /> operations and�;apply different regulations to each class. <br /> � One such class would be the limited service marina opera- � ' <br /> � tion which would include rentals, repairs, sale .of bait ' <br /> and tackle. The other class would be the full service <br /> � marina. operation which would include the sale of new and <br /> used boats year round, boat repairs, and restaurant activity. <br /> • <br /> There followed a general discussion concerning the purpose Chapter 30 of Zoning Code <br /> • and definition section of the Zoning Code. It was stressed <br /> � that the purpose and definition section should state <br /> clearly that these amendments among other things are <br /> � designed to protect the wet lands and marshes within <br /> Orono, the quality of water in La.ke Minnetonka and Long <br /> � Lake, and the quality of ground water supply in Orono. <br /> It is of paramount importance to prevent the destruction <br /> � of the natural enviromnental assets located within the <br /> City, assets which allow for the conti�nuation of an <br /> • adequate and clean ground water supply for the citizens <br /> of Orono. <br /> • <br /> � There followed a general discussion concerning the <br /> definition of hard cover and the definition of <br /> � These definitions were incorporated in the draft of <br /> the proposed zoning amen�nents that had been presented <br /> � previously to the Commission, the Council, the staff <br /> and that were available to the public at the City <br /> • Hall. <br /> • <br /> ! <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br />
