t
h.lanie Curtis
From: Melanie Curtis
Sent: Friday, January 22, 2016 2:42 PM
To: 'donelle feldmann'; 'Joe Feldmann'
Cc: Jon Schwingler Qonschwing@aol.com); 'dfelds@hotmail.com'; Roger Peitso
Subject: Open Inspections: 805 Forest Arms Ln
Attachments: inspections.pdf
Joe &Donelle,
Jon Schwingler contacted me on your behalf regarding the permits issued for the pool, walls, etc in 2014. According to
our records we are holding a total of$3,500 in conjunction with your property: $1,000 related to wetland buffer
improvements to be installed, and $2500 in association with your 2014 permits.
It appears some of the 2014 permits did not receive final inspections.
I have attached a printout from our permitting system with open inspections highlighted. It indicates the following:
l. #2014-00506: The zoning permit for the retaining wall (4'or less) has open inspections;
2. #2014-00505: The building permit for the swimming pool requires a final inspection;
3. #2014-00873: The mechanical permit for the gas line requires a final inspection; and
4. #2014-01116: The building permit for the engineered retaining wall (+4 feet) has open inspections including a
final inspection;
The addition to the home (permit #2014-00635) was constructed and did receive all necessary inspections.
In order to close out all of the open permits and return the escrow, the City requires that final inspections be conducted
for each of the permits. I believe that for Items #1-#3 above this consists of a visual inspection; for #4 above, the
engineered wall, a visual inspection in conjunction with submittal of a final report from the designing engineer Vickery
Engineering, in Eden Prairie (or another engineer if you wish) stating that the wall was constructed per their approved
design specifications.
Finally, an as-built survey should be submitted showing all existing improvements on the properly including as-built
hardcover calculations. The inspections will be conducted following receipt of the as-built survey.
If you have questions please call me, or if the questions are technical or permit related you may contact Roger Peitso, our
Building Official. Roger is copied on this email and can be reached by phone at 952.249.4625.
Thank you,
Melanie
Melanie Curtis, Planner
Planning &Zoning Office 952.249.4620
Direct 952.249.4627
2750 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356
Email: mcurtis@ci.orono.mn.us
Website: www.ci.orono.mn.us
1
