a ' <br />r <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 27, 1986 <br />ATTENDANCE 7:02 PM <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br />The Orono Council met on the above date with the <br />following members present: Mayor Butler, Councilmembers <br />Grabek, Adams, Frahm, and Hammerel. The following <br />represented the City staff: City Administrator <br />Bernhardson, Public Works Coordinator Gerhardson, <br />Building & Zoning Administrator Mabusth, Assistant <br />Zoning Administrator Gaffron, Chief of Police Kilbo, and <br />City Recorder Peterson. City Attorney Tom Barrett was <br />also present. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson administered the Oath of <br />Office to newly appointed Police Officers Mary M. <br />Hensel, Mark Thomton, and Irving English Jr. <br />'APPRECIATION OF POLICE RESERVE UNIT <br />RESOLUTION #1913 <br />Mayor Butler read the proposed Resolution of <br />Commendation to the Orono Police Reserve Unit. <br />Present from the Orono Police Reserve were Peter Achey <br />and Mark Byington. Also present was Jim Morowczynski, <br />Police department reserve liaison officer. <br />Chief Kilbo noted that the Police Reserve Unit donated <br />3443+ hours during 1985. <br />It was moved by Mayor Butler, seconded by Councilmember <br />Grabek, that Council adopt Resolution #1913 A <br />Commendation to the Orono Police Reserve Unit. Motion, <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. •� <br />Councilmember Grabek noted that he felt proper publicity <br />should be given regarding the new police officers and <br />the commendation of the Police Reserve Unit. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION INTERVIEWS <br />Council interviewed the following applicants interested <br />in the position as Planning Commission member: Maureen <br />Bellows, James Hanson, and Carol Moore Trapp. <br />Zoning Administrator Mabusth noted a fourth interested <br />applicant, Mariann Kienzler, was not present but had <br />planned on being present. <br />Councilmember Adams complimented staff on bringing such <br />a qualified group of applicants forward. <br />1 <br />
