MINUTES OF THE TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING <br />• HELD AT 5:30 P.M. ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2005 <br />IN THE ORONO COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />Members Present: Acting Mayor Sansevere and Council Members McMillan, Murphy <br />and White. <br />Staff Present: City Administrator Ron Moorse, Finance Director Tom Kuehn, and <br />Assistant Finance Director Ron Olson. <br />Acting Mayor Sansevere called the meeting to order, and noted all members were <br />present with the exception of Mayor Peterson and Council Member White. He opened <br />the hearing at 5:31 p.m. There were no members of the public present. <br />Moorse outlined the proposed budget and ti x levy increases, and summarized the <br />reasons for the increases. He also announced that the final budget and levy would be <br />adopted at the Final Budget Adoption hearing, to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, <br />December 12. <br />(At 5:37, Council Member White arrived). <br />There being no public comments, Acting Mayor Sansevere closed the hearing at 5:38 <br />p.m. <br />• Immediately following the closure of the hearing, a resident arrived for the hearing. <br />Acting Mayor Sansevere re- opened the heal ring at 5:41 p.m. <br />Dean Griemann, of 3779 Casco Avenue indicated he did not have concerns regarding <br />the City's budget or tax levy, but had some' questions about the city's tax base, and how <br />that affected his property taxes. <br />Kuehn and Moorse provided information regarding the City's tax base and the City's tax <br />rate. I <br />Acting Mayor Sansevere closed the hearing at 6:01 p.m. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Council Member Murphy moved, Council Member White seconded, that the <br />meeting be adjourned at 6:01 p.m. Vote: 4 Ayes, 0 Nays. <br />ATTEST: <br />• Linda S.
