N <br />• <br />n <br />U <br />• <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, November 10, 2008 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />The Orono City Council met on the above -me. <br />Mayor James White, Council Members James <br />David Rahn. Representing Staff were City Ac <br />Olson, Assistant City Administrator for Long - <br />Turner, City Engineer Tom Kellogg, and Recc <br />Led date with the following members present: <br />phy, Lili McMillan, Cynthia Bremer, and <br />istrator William Wells, Finance Director Ron <br />a Strategy Mike Gaffron, Planner Evelyn <br />Jackie Young. <br />Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Mayor White noted that Dick Kroeger, Commissioner on the Orono Planning Commission, <br />recently died. <br />The City Council recognized Dick Kroeger for his tireless work on behalf of the City. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Item Nos. 6 and 7 were added to the Consent <br />Bremer moved, Rahn seconded, to <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: <br />*2. REGULAR COUNCIL MEETINGIOF OCTOBER 27, 2008 <br />Bremer moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the minutes of the October 27, 2008, Orono City <br />Council meeting as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />LMCD REPORT — ANDREW <br />McDermott reported that the boat density rep( <br />on the lake this past year, which is a small inc <br />increase is attributed to the sluggish economy <br />, REPRESENTATIVE <br />showed there were approximately 10,200 boats <br />ise over the past couple of years. The small <br />McDermott stated they would be receiving and update on the herbicide treatment at their next <br />meeting. The beginning of December is the deadline for the Save the Lake grant program for <br />2009. <br />McMillan commented the Big Island subcommittee still needs to resolve some issues relating to <br />the buoying. 'I <br />McDermott stated it is his understanding that it would be a yearly application process and that if <br />the subcommittee is not ready to proceed on their application, they could withdraw it and <br />resubmit it later. <br />1 of 13 <br />1-91 <br />
