The construction of a new driveway will be required to <br /> serve the new residence, which will be located at the rear of the lot. The existing residence is located <br /> at the front of the lot. Construction of this driveway will require the crossing of a wetland. This <br /> wetland is not an "Orono City Protected Wetland" so a variance to our City zoning code is not <br /> required. The house can be built without any variances, so a staff approval can be issued for the <br /> building permit. We will not issue a building permit until all other agency approvals have been <br /> secured. <br /> The driveway will be crossing a WACA protected wetland which will require approval by the <br /> MCWD acting as the LGU for the City. Because this wetland is not protected by our zoning code, <br /> we will rely on the MCWD acting in it's role as LGU far the City to make a determination on this <br /> driveway wetland crossing. <br /> Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
