*ori\JA;tfr-- CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> No.7673 <br /> kFSHp�� <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE <br /> MCES MUNICIPAL I&I GRANT PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS,the Minnesota Legislature appropriated state bond funds to the Metropolitan Council <br /> for the purpose of providing grants to municipalities to reduce inflow and infiltration (I&I) to the <br /> metropolitan sanitary sewer disposal system; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) administers the <br /> Municipal Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) Grant Program to fund capital improvements to public <br /> wastewater collection systems; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono submitted an application for grant funding under the 2023 I&I <br /> Municipal Grant Program; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Metropolitan Council determined that the City is eligible to receive grant funding <br /> due to its contribution of inflow and infiltration to the metropolitan sanitary sewer system; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been awarded grant funding in an amount not to exceed $101,250 to <br /> reimburse eligible costs associated with sanitary sewer rehabilitation improvements, including <br /> cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining projects completed in 2024 and 2025; and <br /> WHEREAS, participation in the grant program requires formal approval by the City Council and <br /> authorization of designated City officials to execute grant agreements and submit reimbursement <br /> requests; <br /> RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ORONO, MINNESOTA,AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. The City Council hereby approves participation in the 2023 Municipal Inflow and Infiltration <br /> (I&I) Grant Program administered by the Metropolitan Council. <br /> 2. The City Council accepts the grant award in an amount not to exceed $101,250 for eligible <br /> sanitary sewer system improvements. <br /> 3. The City Council authorizes the City Administrator/Engineer to execute all necessary grant <br /> agreements, payment applications, and related documents required to implement the grant <br /> program on behalf of the City. <br /> 4. The City Council authorizes City staff to take all actions necessary to comply with the <br /> requirements of the grant program and to secure reimbursement for eligible project costs. <br /> ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota this 30 day of March 2026. <br /> ATTEST,- <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> Chris us0 ity Clerk Bob Tunheim, Mayor <br />
