� RESOLUTION N0. 1202 <br /> RESOLUTZON REGARDING THE POSSIBILITY OF <br /> THE USE OF THE -LUCE LINE TRATL WITHIN THE <br /> CITY OF ORONO FOR TRANSMTSSION LINE � <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono has recently been informed <br /> that Northern States Power has previously acquired an easement <br /> for the placement of a transmission line and/or towers over <br /> the Luce Line through the City of Orono, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono is con- <br /> cerned about any possibility of the construction of such a <br /> transmission line on the Luce Line Trail because of its possible <br /> adverse effects on the environment, the Comprehensive Land Use <br /> Plan of the city, the development of the residential areas along <br /> each side of the Luce ,Line Trail, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> l. That the City Council objects to the construction of <br /> such a transmission line along the Luce Line Trail. <br /> • 2 . That the City Council requests that Northern States <br /> Power discuss with the City of Orono any potential plans for the <br /> construction of such a transmission line prior to those plans <br /> being developed by Northern States Power. <br /> This resolution was passed on the 15 day of September <br /> 1980, by a vote of 5 ayes and p nays. � <br /> � <br /> r " ' / <br /> _ � ` � � <br /> � -� y - <br /> William B.
