SYSTEM DESIGN /
FOR JEFF MARTINEAU
OF LOT 5, BLOCK 2
LONG, LAKE COUNTRY CLUB ADDITION
ORONO, MINNESOTA
10-28-85
1. Percolation Rate, Type of System.
55.5 minutes per inch. Mound System.
2. Proposed Flow Rate.
3 bedrooms @ 150 C.P.D. 450 G.P.D.
3. Size of Rock Bed.
0.83 factor when clean sand is used x 450 G.P.D. > 375 sq. ft. of area.
This amounts to a rock bed 10 feet wide x 37.5 feet long.
4. Dike 6 Basal Width.
Since the ground slope is slightly greater than 3% use only the downslope
for basal width. Use 2.67 factor times 10 feet or 26.7 feet. Since this is
greater than a 4:1 slope it is allowable. Use 4:1 sideslopes on all other
dike elopes.
5. Septic Tanks.
The existing tanks should be checked tc see that they meet current require-
ments and are watertight. If not, 2 tanks of 1000 and 750 gallons minimum
would be needed. In addition, a third tank will be needed to house the pump
required for pressure distribution to the mound. All construction and mater-
ials must adhere to the provisions of the City of Orono.
7. Additional Information.
Soil boring # 1 was taken in a small Swale towards the south end of the
proposed drainfield to see the worst possible conditions. Thus, the rock
bed area is shown on the flatter and higher area to the north. Also, drain-
age from the house downspouts should be diverted away from the mound by
grading. If any additional information is needed, please contact me.
Sincerely,
PERCOR, INC.
Mark S. Gronberg, P.E
PCA certified
