(Resolution #325, continued) <br />WHEREAS, some variations may be viewed by snowmobile operators as <br />.discriminatory in nature and thus unconstitutional or unreasonable; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, such claims of unreasonableness may cause the State Legisla- <br />ture to�pass uniform•snowmobile regulations on a. state-wide basis <br />which are adverse to the metropolitan area municipalities, thus <br />pre-empting the municipalities from controlling their environment: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village <br />of Orono that uniformity in snowmobile regulations throughout.Henne- <br />pin County is a just and reasonable goal. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT James Ogland, Park Commission member, is <br />hereby appointed as the representative of this municipality to the <br />Ad Hoc Committee on Snowmobile Regulations of the League of Hennepin <br />County Municipalities for the purposie,of••developing a uniform snow- <br />mobile regulation code acceptable to the municipalities of Hennepin <br />County, and for subsequent adoption by said municipalities as <br />regulartory ordinances. . <br />Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota at <br />a regular meeting'held February 23, 1970. <br />Louis B. 0 er auser, _ayor <br />Attest: � <br />y <br />Ralp H. Martin, Cler -A ministrator <br />RESOLUTION #326 <br />A RESOLUTION REGARDING HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION <br />FOR LAKE MINNETONKA <br />1 <br />WHEREAS, Lake Minnetonka is a priceless natural resource and recrea- <br />tional area; <br />WHEREAS,,the value of Lake Minnetonka as a natural resource and recre- <br />ational area and the quality of life in this area may best be <br />preserved by directing commuter traffic around and away.from the <br />shores of Lake Minnetonka; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the citizens of the Lake <br />Minnetnnka area, request the following action: <br />1. That the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners and the Hennepin <br />County Highway Department be requested to examine and change their <br />policies of ,determining highway improvement as they relate to the <br />Lake Minnetonka area. <br />
