(Resolution #324, continued) <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village <br />of Orono, Minnesota, that the Village does hereby urgently request the <br />State of.Minnesota to install temporary traffic signals at the inter- <br />section of Highway No. 12 and North Ferndale Avenue at.once. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village Clerk is hereby directed to <br />forward a copy of this Resolution to the appropriate State officials <br />and to.pursue whatever action'is necessary'to secure the installation <br />of such signals., <br />Adopted by the Village�Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota at <br />a regular meeting held February 23, 1970. <br />Attest • <br />.Ralph H. artin, Clerk -Administrator <br />RESOLUTION #325 <br />A.RESOLUTION••RECOGNIZING THE NEED FOR UNIFORM <br />SNOWMOBILE REGULATIONS WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITIES <br />OF HENNEPIN COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, the operation of snowmobiles has become a rapidly growing <br />recreational acitivity throughout the State of Minnesota; and, <br />WHEREAS, the State Legislature in Minnesota Statutes 1967, Section <br />84.86, Subdivision 1, has stated, in effect, that the public pplicy <br />of the State of Minnesota shall be to achieve maximum use of snowmobiles; <br />and., <br />WHEREAS, the incidence of snowmobile operations has increased substanti- <br />ally in urban areas of the State during the past few years, and in <br />particular throughout Hennepin County: and, <br />WHEREAS, the extent of snowmobile activity, the nature of the vehicles, <br />and the existence of a small proportion of irresponsible operators <br />have combined to create a threat to the health, safety and general <br />welfare of citizens of certain municipalities within Hennepin County; <br />,:_ • and , <br />WHEREAS, the several municipal councils have enacted variously, the <br />regulatory ordinances deemed in the best interest of their respective <br />municipalities; and, <br />WHEREAS, the variations among municipal ordinances'within•Hennepin <br />County are difficult if not impossible to discover -and interpret by <br />snowmobile operators who plan trips crossing several muAicipal <br />boundaries; and, <br />
