*MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD JANUARY 14, 1991 <br />ROLL CALL: <br />The Orono City Council met on tne aocve date with <br />following members present; Mayor Barbara Peterson, <br />Councilmembers Diann Goetten, Edward Callahan, ana Gabriel <br />Jabbour. The following represented the City Staff: City <br />Administrator Mark Bernhardson, Building and Zoning Aaministrator <br />Jeanne Mabusth, Public Works Director Jonn Gernardson, Police <br />Chief Mel Kilbo, City Attorney Thomas Barrett, City Engineer <br />Glenn Cook, City Clerk Dorothy Hallin, and City Recorder Laurie <br />Scheffler. Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 7;0l <br />p.m. <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br />Dorothy Hallin administered the Oath of Office to Mayor <br />Peterson, Councilmember Goetten, Counciimember jabbour and Police <br />Officer Timothy Roberts. <br />OPENING COMMENTS-MAYOR PETERSON: <br />Mayor Paterson stated that during the next two years the <br />citizens of Croiio would experience a Council that is not only <br />fair, but opan-aunded. She said, "On behalf of the Council, I <br />would like to say that we vill all work very hard to better our <br />community. I personally would like to thank the citizens for <br />providing me with the opportunity to serve in this capacity." <br />CONSENT AGENDA* <br />Councilmember Goetten asked to have item #21 removed from <br />the Consent Agenda for discussion. <br />Councilmember Callahan requested that item #4 be removed <br />from the Consent Agenda. <br />#19. <br />Mayor Peterson requested the removal of Consent Agenda item <br />With regard to Consent Agenda item #18, Bernhardson stated <br />that this item should be tabled until January 28, 1991, and could <br />remain on the Consent Agenda for that purpose. <br />It was moved Callahan, seconded by Goetten, to approve the <br />Consent Agenda, with the exception of items #4, #19 ^nd #21, <br />which were removed and discussed in the order appearing on the <br />Agenda. Item #18 was tabled until the January 2S, 1991 Council <br />meeting. Motion, Ayes-4, Nays-0. Motion passed. <br />RECOGNITION • LEE BRGER <br />Mayor Paterson presented Mr. Erger with a Resolution of <br />Appreciation for the 13 years he served on the Orono Park <br />Commission. <br />Mr. Erger thanked the City Council for the Resolution.
