MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Monday, November 24, 2014 <br />5:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Lili McMillan, Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Lizz Levang and Aaron <br />Printup; representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director <br />Ron Olson, Police Chief Correy Farniok, Public Works Director – City Engineer Adam <br />Edwards and City Attorney Soren Mattick. <br /> <br />Council interviewed applicant Julie Ruegemer for the Park Commission. <br />Chief Farniok provided an update on several items including a donation, a possible grant <br />opportunity for a DUI officer. <br />Finance Director Ron Olson presented updated information on revenue and expenditure factors <br />for consideration in the 2015 budgets. He requested the Council’s input on funds for seal <br />coating in the public works maintenance budget, contract amendments and non‐union <br />employee wages. There was discussion about wages but no consensus. <br />Public Works Director – City Engineer Adam Edwards provided information on the winter <br />maintenance of Three Rivers Trails. Discussion ensued regarding a request from the City to <br />Three Rivers to maintain their trail. There was a consensus that Councilmember Printup would <br />share the request (and resident emails) with our area representative Penny Steele. <br />No time remained to discuss agenda item #3, marking fire lanes.
