■ <br />SI1T3 EVALUATION REPORT <br />RUXTON STRONG PROPERTY <br />IN THE S.E.Vc OP SEC. 3-117-23 <br />OROKO, MINNESOTA <br />12-30-00 <br />On Decenbor 12-ll|., I960 six percolation holes were tested <br />and 3 soil borings taken on each of 2 proposed lets on the Rux- <br />ton Strong property. I^ie percolation holes were dug 6 inches in <br />dicnetsr to a 42 inch depth v;hile the soil borings were dug 6 i <br />inches in diameter to the 4 foot depth and 3 inches in diameter <br />to the 0 foot depth, Thie percolation holes were dug with both <br />a power and hand operated auger v/hlle tho soil borings were dug <br />with tho hand operated bucket type augor. <br />Both lots are situated on top of a high wooded knob con­ <br />sisting of the Kilkenny loam soil series. Because of tho loc­ <br />ation the coil was verj dry nnd hard and thus v;as kept satura­ <br />ted for a long tine before testing. The average percolation <br />rates for tho two lots were 25».0 and 34.4 nlnutos per inch <br />v;hich vihen combined with the lack of a high water table ena­ <br />bles standard drainflold systems to bo construe*..! on each lot. <br />Because the whole area is relatively level it appears that <br />some typo of pumping system will have to bo used if full base­ <br />ments are to bo served. Additional cyston design information <br />viill bo needed once tho location and size of the houses to be <br />constructed ore Imovm.
