1
=1
TO; Planning CommIsslon
FROM; Dexter ftarston. Zoning Administrator
DATE; April 5, 1974
SUBJECT; STREET VACATION - Plat 43040, Parcel 9900
PETITIONER; Dale Matson
LXATION: 2200 BayvIew Place
STAFF REVIEW; An application has been submitted by Mr. Matson to vacate
Wallace Avenue between BayView Place on the West and Lot 44 of Wallaces
Addition to the Village of Minnetonka Beach on the East. Property Is
bordered by the railroad tracks on the north. Mr. f'atson claims that
Wallace Avenue could never be used because It Is only 20* wide and the
right-of-way Is only 6’ from the corner of his house. To the east Is a
25* right-of-way referred to on the map as Hillside Place. This road
does not exist at the present time. There Is some questions as to wheth
er the lots along this road could be developed, but If they were, some
access or a turn-around to the west should be provided along the railroad
tracks. Before any decision Is made on the vacation of Wallace Avenue,
this matter should be referred to the engineer and Director of Public
Works for their comments. A Public Hearing should be scheduled for May.
DM/Ig
