: <br /> ORDINANCE NO 12 , THIRD SERTES <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF ORONO ZONING CODE <br /> SECTION 78-1405 <br /> REGARDING NONENCROACHMENTS <br /> The City Council of Orono ordains as follows: <br /> Section 1: Municipal Zonin� Code Section 78-1405 is hereby revised by adding <br /> Subsection(8)which shall read as follows: <br /> Sec. 78-1405. Nonencroachments. <br /> � Entrance monuments, defined for the �urpose of this section as a nearlv <br /> permanent nhvsical structure or obiect, natural or artificial used to depict an <br /> entrance to the nropertv, erected in all residential zonin� districts are considered <br /> nonencroachments when thev conform with the followina standards• <br /> a. Each monument, witli a inaximum of two, shall be limited to a sin l�e pillar <br /> with a faotnrint measurinQ no larger than 25 sq�.�are feet and no len7tlz to <br /> exceed 5'; <br /> b. The monument must be setback a minimum of 5' from all propertY boundaries <br /> and never fewer than 10' from the edge of the paved traveled roadwa� <br /> c. Plans and/or elevation views of the pronosed monuments are required to be <br /> submitted for approval by the Planning Director• <br /> d. All siQna�e proposed for the monuments must comply with Section 78-1467• <br /> e. The monuments are limited to 8' in height includin�an�appurtenances Anv <br /> monument exceedin� the maximum hei�ht must meet principal structure <br /> setback requirements: <br /> f. When more than one monument is proposed a minimum horizontal width of <br /> 12' is required between them; <br /> � Li�htin� is allowed, in conformance with Section 78-1573 and at the <br /> discretion of the Plannin�Director. <br /> h.
