Mayor Callahan called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
Mayor Callahan explained the Board has received recommendations
from the Assessor for the 46 properties for which the owners have
q'jestioned the value. He said If property owners still are not
satisfied, they retain their right to appeal to the County. He
noted there are a number of people who contacted the Assessor
wishing to preserve their right to appeal, and that list is
included In the packet. He said he feels we have a very strong
Assessor doing a very tough job. He reiterated the assessments are
complied by mass appraisals using comparisons and selling ratios.
He pointed out the area actually reviewed this year was
Drive. The appraised vaiues compared to the selling ratio indicated
the market values were approximatel y 14* lower. The County requires
a valuation of 92 to 93* or the value Is automatically raised.
Mayor Cal lahan noted there were some properties which
by the Board at the last meeting, and those will be included In the
approval motion.
Greg Gerard. 2610 Maoleridge Lane. S21-1 17-23 21 Q009-i.
Mayor Callahan noted at the first meeting, they decided the value
should be reduced to $250,000.
John Erifison. 1620 Shadvwood Road. #17-1 17-23 21 001
Jabbour felt this value should be further reduced.
Mayor Callahan noted the appraisal changed by reducing the land
value.
Jabbour agreed that lakeshore property Is a premium, but at the
same time property adjacent tc^ commercial cluVtlpublic landing, is not worth as much. He said due to the County
Roads abutting this property, the public access across the road,
and the parking along the street, the value should be reduced.
Kelley noted the similar parcel adjacent to this home that just
sold for $235,000.
1
—
