Orono City Council <br /> Work Session Minutes <br /> Monday,February 28,2022 <br /> W Council Chambers <br /> EsHO <br /> 5:00 p.m. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Dennis Walsh, Council Members Richard F. Crosby II, Victoria Seals, and <br /> Matt Johnson. Staff members present were City Administrator/Engineer Adam Edwards,Parks <br /> and Golf Course Superintendent Josh Lemons, and City Clerk Anna Carlson. <br /> 1. Park Commission Interview <br /> The City Council Members interviewed candidate Alisa Benson for the Park Commission. <br /> 2. Precinct Redistricting Update <br /> City Clerk Anna Carlson provided an update to the City Council regarding redistricting for the <br /> City's voting locations. She mentioned the City of Orono has four precincts within its <br /> jurisdiction. Carlson also noted that after review of the changes in boundaries and with <br /> election administration input, staff is recommending modifying the number of precincts and <br /> precinct boundaries in Orono. A resolution with those changes will be brought to the next <br /> City Council meeting for approval. <br /> 3. Big Island Dock Update <br /> Community Development Director Jeremy Barnhart gave an update regarding the Big Island <br /> dock application status. He plans to notify and invite public comment regarding adding docks <br /> in Big Island. He also noted that a 20 foot dock may be approved. <br /> City Council Member Matt Johnson noted that it may be a good idea to get the four extra feet <br /> of dock, since it can extend on to land. <br /> Barnhart also mentioned that he has been tracking the Affordable Housing Bill and will be <br /> providing more updates as they come in.
