The
last I had heard from James was May 21 when he had finally gotten a response from the State Fire Marshal's Office, and
indicated there were a number of items to be resolved. The next thing I hear is that you are now pursuing a stationary
tank which is exactly the opposite of what I stated we could approve back in April. The fact that other marinas in other
cities around the lake may have a stationary tank next to the shore does not mean we will approve one here. If Wayzata
Marine in Orono has had such a tank it has not been approved by the City except in the past on a very temporary basis
(beginning of season for a few days only, Lyle tells me).
I think it is time for all involved to meet again to discuss parameters for moving forward. Lyle and I can be available this
week Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning or afternoon, or Thursday afternoon. Let me know what works for you.
Mike
Michael P.Gaffron
Assistant City Administrator/Long Term Strategy
City of Orono
(Street Address)2750 Kelley Parkway
(Mailing Address)P.O.Box 66,Crystal Bay,MN 55323
Phone:(952)249-4600
Fax: (952)249-4616
From: lukekujawa@gmail.com [mailto:lukekujawa@gmail.com] On Behalf Of Luke Kujawa
Sent: Friday, June 15, 2012 12:21 PM
To: Mike Gaffron
Cc: James Van Eyll; Lyle Oman; Michael Jellish; MG Kaminski
Subject: Re: specs
Mr. Gaffron,
So nice to hear from you after weeks of paying $1000 per week to rent the truck with no response to my emails.
I have attached a couple photos of other tanks around the lake.
When your biggest issue for a year while going through the CUP process was parking, I don't understand why
you insist on having an already mobile tank put on a trailer that will take up additional parking.
I don't understand why we are being held to a higher standard then anyone else.
I don't understand why I can't even get a response from you until after I work out a solution with Mr. Van Eyll,
only then to have you deny our 4th option. I could open a fuel supply company with the equipment I have had
to purchase and not use, for something that is supposed to be a permitted use.
i
