O <br /> Orono City Council <br /> Work Session Minutes <br /> % Monday,January 24,2022 <br /> Council Chambers <br /> SH <br /> 5:00 p.m. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Dennis Walsh, Council Members Richard F. Crosby II,Aaron Printup, <br /> Victoria Seals, and Matt Johnson. Staff members present were City Administrator/Engineer <br /> Adam Edwards, Community Development Director Jeremy Barnhart, Finance Director Ron <br /> Olson, and City Clerk Anna Carlson. <br /> 1. Community Development Update <br /> a. Navarre Parking Lot <br /> Community Development Director Jeremy Barnhart gave an update regarding the <br /> Navarre Parking lot project. He discussed the draft design for the project which <br /> displayed locations for drop off and pick up for students, loading areas for businesses, <br /> trail parking,and bus access. <br /> There was discussion about how the directional path for parking lot traffic flow, <br /> additions of signs, designating of spaces for loading zones and questions were asked <br /> about the location of the property lines shown on the layout design. <br /> Barnhart noted that input received tonight will be added to the designandhe will <br /> meet with the engineer and bring back the final draft to the Council for approval at <br /> future meeting. <br /> b. Big Island Dock <br /> Barnhart gave an update about the Big Island dock. He noted the city is proposing a <br /> dock with two boat storage areas that would go into the lake. <br /> Johnson mentioned that the city should add a length restriction for boats. <br /> Barnhart noted that a width restriction may also be considered for the boat. <br /> There was discussion about the placement for the boat storage. The Council agreed <br /> that boat storage could be on both sides of the dock. The Council also agreed that the <br /> dock should accommodate space for 24-26 foot length spaces on each side or two 21 <br /> feet spaces on one side. <br /> Barnhart will check with the LMCD Representative, Richie Anderson for more <br /> information about those requirements. <br /> 2. Update on Long Lake Utility Agreement <br /> City Administrator/Engineer gave a verbal update about the Long Lake Utility <br /> Agreement. The city received a response and draft agreement from Long Lake. The City <br /> has requested the agreement be revised to reflect a consolidation, and a meeting will be <br /> scheduled to begin discussions to work together to solve the issues. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
