Lafayette Rd. <br /> Excelsior.M, 5$331 <br /> Introduction <br /> A structural evaluation of the residence at the above address has been performed to <br /> evaluate elements of the original construction and subsequent additions for the additional <br /> loads of a third story above the garage area of the house. Both elevated floors and roof <br /> clear span from the exterior wall facing the lake to a girder on posts outside the garage <br /> doors, On the lake side of the house the second floor cantilevers 6" over a 4" stud wall <br /> that was part of the original structure. At the garage door side the elevated floors and roof <br /> are supported on 3'/2"x 51/4" microlam columns on a 12" diameter pier bell to 24" <br /> diameter at frost depth. <br /> Conclusions <br /> On the lake side of the house, modifications to the 2x4 stud wall are required as shown <br /> on sheet 2, On the garage door side the microlam columns are satisfactory as is. The <br /> girders need to be 4 ply 11 7/8" 1,9E LVL.
