MINUTES OF THE CITY OF ORONO <br /> PARKS, OPEN SPACES AND TRAILS COMMISSION MEETING <br /> MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2001 <br /> (#1) ATTENDANCE <br /> The Park Commission met on the above mentioned date with the following members present: <br /> Chair Andrew McDermott, Commissioners Debora Halvorson, Rick Meyers, and Pauline Bouchard. <br /> Commissioners Sherokee Ilse, Irene Silber, and Patrick Wolfe were absent. Representing Staff were <br /> Planning Director Michael Gaffron and Recorder Jackie Young. City Council Representative Jim White <br /> arrived at 7:29 p.m. <br /> Chair McDermott called the meeting to order at 7:22 p.m. <br /> (#2) APPROVAL OF MARCH, 2001 MINUTES <br /> Corrections were made on Pages 1, 2,4, 6, and 7. <br /> Bouchard moved,Meyers seconded,to approve the minutes of the Orono Parks,Open Space and <br /> Trails Commission Meeting of March 5, 2001, as amended. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> MEETING REPORTS <br /> (#3) MARCH COUNCIL MEETINGS <br /> This item was not discussed due to the absence of Silber and Ilse. <br /> McDermott stated he has spoken with Paul Kerr who indicated he is still interested in participating on <br /> some park committees. <br /> (#4) PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> None <br /> SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS/UPDATES <br /> (#5) NAVARRE PARK <br /> Gaffron stated he has nothing to report regarding the park benches. <br /> Meyers stated he has spoken with John Ross regarding the possibility of the Eagle Scouts participating in <br /> the planting at the Navarre Park. Ross indicated they would not be interested in doing that project since it <br /> requires the Eagle Scouts to monitar the plantings for one year. <br /> Meyers stated he did submit an article to the local newspaper and City newsletter concerning the <br /> planting and request for donations. <br /> PAGE1 <br />
