� <br /> ' ,� � . w. <br /> • MINIITES OF THE REGULAR ORONO PARIC COMMISSION MEETING <br /> HELD FEBRDARY 4, 1991 <br /> ATTENDANCE 7:10 P.M. - <br /> The Park Commission met on the above date with the following <br /> members present: Chairperson Phil Bradley, Susan Wilson, Jim <br /> Gilbert, and Bruce Kokal. John Gerhardson, Public Works Director <br /> represented the City staff. Absent were: Lester Kelley, <br /> Alexander Vongries and Dick Flint. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES - <br /> Bruce Kokal moved, Phil Bradley seconded, to approve the <br /> minutes of the January 2, 1991 Park Commission. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> AGENDA: - <br /> List of Park Commission Applicants <br /> Bike/Hike Trail - February 2nd Meeting <br /> Jet Ski Ordinance - Long Lake <br /> Bederwood Park <br /> New Business <br /> PARK COMMISSION APPLIGANTS - <br /> Dick Flint, Susan Wilson and Jim Gilbert are up for <br /> reappointment, and Lee Erger has resigned. The City Council will <br /> appoint a replacement for Lee Erger. The list of applicants was <br /> included for the Park Commission's information. The City Council <br /> requested Susan Wi 1 son a 1 so appear f or an interview as some of <br /> them have not met her. <br /> BIRE/HIRE TRAIL - <br /> Susan Wilson, Bruce Kokal and Dick Flint met with John <br /> Gerhardson on February 2 , 1991 to discuss bike trail options <br /> along Old Crystal Bay Road, Willow Drive and County Road 6. They <br /> measured right-of-way and discussed the difficulties involved in <br /> the amount of land needed for a separated trail. <br /> Susan Wilson met with Eric Blanke from Plymouth and Bob Hill <br /> from Minnetonka to acquire information on the costs and <br /> advantages of a separated bike trail. She will report on those <br /> findings in March or April. <br /> John Gerhardson spoke with A1 Yngvie on procuring a <br /> bike/hike easement on the piece of land adjacent to County Road 6 <br /> between Willow Drive and Old Crystal Bay Road. Mr. Yngvie denied <br /> the request at this time due to the difficulties of the number of <br /> partners involved and no current plan for development. Mr. <br /> Gerhardson will try once more to explain our desire to have an <br /> easement at this time to move ahead with our trail plans with the <br /> promise we would vacate the easement if we change our trail <br /> plans. <br /> 1 <br />
