ORONO PARR COMMISSION, JANOARY 5, 1988 <br /> ATTENDANCE <br /> Bob Kost, Chairman, Virginia Sweatt, Bruce Kokal , Lee Erger, Lester <br /> Kelley, and Philip Bradley were present. Mariann Kienzler and Thomas <br /> Casey were absent. John Gerhardson from the Orono City staff was also <br /> present . <br /> APPROVAL OF MINOTES <br /> Minutes from the December meeting were not available and will be <br /> reviewed at the February meeting. <br /> SCDLPTORE - LIVINGSTON TOWER PARR <br /> Nicholas Legeros presented his scale model of the sculpture of <br /> Livingston Tower Park. The sculpture is to be made of bronze, stand <br /> 36 inches high and resemble a pedestal type bird bath. The bowl will <br /> be 30 inches in diameter and will have several bronze leaves fixed to <br /> the inside. The leaves will appear to be floating in the bowl when it <br /> is full of water. The design was approved by the Commission. Bob <br /> Kost and Mr. Legeros will present the sculpture to the Council on <br /> January 25 , 1988 at 7 :00 p.m. <br /> BIRE-HIRE TRAIL PLAN <br /> The trail map will be revised to eliminate the route along County Road <br /> 135 and to add a trail along County Road 19 through the Highwood Park <br /> property across County Road 151 to Shady Beach. <br /> The Phase I Trail Route was agreed upon by the Commission and the <br /> updated map will be sent on to the Plannign Commission for review. <br /> PARR DEDICATION FEE <br /> A subdivision of eleven lots was reviewed and collection of park fees <br /> instead of dedicated land was recommended by the Commission. John <br /> Gerhardson will include a copy of the Park Dedication Fee Formula with <br /> these minutes. The Commission will discuss the fees at the next <br /> meeting. <br /> PARR PROMOTION <br /> Ginny Sweatt will send an article on the ice skating opportunities at <br /> the Orono Parks to the official City newspaper for publication. <br /> ADJOORNMENT <br /> Meeting was adjourned at The next Park Commission meeting is <br /> scheduled for Tuesday, February 2, 1988 at 7 : 00 p.m. <br /> 1 <br />
