The following were <br /> absent: Lee Erger, Barb Peterson, Les Ke� 1ey and <br /> Phi 1 Brad 1 ey <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> It was moved by Morse, seconded by Kost to approve <br /> the Park Commission minutes of the September 16th <br /> meeting. <br /> STOBBS BAY SCHOOL UPDATE <br /> Gerhardson indicated that the individual from the <br /> local history museum is no longer available to aide <br /> the City in the building relocation/rehabilitation <br /> process. Another individual had expressed interest <br /> as a �iason and Gerhardson is arranging a meeting <br /> with him. Discussion followed regarding the <br /> appropriateness of moving the old school house up <br /> to the Orono school yard at Highway 12 and Old <br /> Crystal Bay Road. Kost suggested Commissioners <br /> visit the Old Chaska School at Highway 41 in Chaska <br /> as an example project. <br /> NAML� AND IMPROVEMENT OF PARR ON LIVINGSTON AVENUE IN NAVARRE <br /> Suggested names were Livingston Watertower Park, <br /> Watertower Rest Area , and Watertower Park. <br /> Decision was deferred until next meeting. Kost <br /> offered to prepare a landscape concept plan for the <br /> park. Morse, . Kienzler and Sweatt accepted his <br /> offer. Kost W�1i volunteer his time and will <br /> present a plan to the Commission at the next <br /> meeting. <br /> PARR COMMISSION ORGANIZATYON AND PROMOTION <br /> Morse raised the issues of Boardmember Orientation, <br /> Park Board Charter or Statement of Goa1s, "Know <br /> your Park Commission" article in local paper and <br /> need to meet on a regular basis. Ideas were <br /> discussed by all members. Gerhardson suggested <br /> that meeting with City Administrator and regular <br /> attendance at Planning Commission/City Council <br /> meetings would also help promote visibility. <br /> RISR SURVEY BY NSRS - SEPTEMBER 9, 1986 <br /> Gerhardson handed out copies of survey to <br /> Commissioners for their information and potential <br /> action. Survey found potential hazards in three <br /> areas : lack of impact resistant surfaces under <br /> play equipment, injury potential of inerry-go-round <br /> at Antoine Park and regular weekly maintenance and <br /> safety check of park and play equipment. <br /> Gerhardson recommended that Commissioners visit <br /> Antoine Park and other parks with play equipment <br /> prior to next meeting. <br /> 1 <br />
