J � <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> PARK COMMISSION <br /> The regular meeting of the Orono Park Commission was held on February 3 , 1981 <br /> The following members were present: ATTENDANCE <br /> Erger, Tomlinson, Watson, Peterson , <br /> and Sweatt. <br /> Mrs . Mary Stinson appeared before VACANCY ON PARK COMM. <br /> the Park Commission to apply for , <br /> the vacant position. She agreed <br /> to appear with Lee Tomlinson, before <br /> the City Council for their approval . <br /> The Council approved funds for an ICE SKATING RINK <br /> attendant for the Ice Warming house <br /> at Orono schools . It will cost about <br /> $150. 00 - $200 . 00 . Lonq Lake and <br /> Medina have already contributed. <br /> The Council approved one site for an CASCO CIRCLE PARK <br /> ice rink o� an open space in the North <br /> East area of the park. $2 , 000 for con- <br /> struction will come from the reallocation <br /> of the Block Grant Funds . <br /> There is $2 , 100 . 00 left in the Block Grant BLOCK GRANT FUND <br /> Fund which will be used for planting in <br /> Bederwood Park. <br /> The Mound Ice Arena failed to get public ICE ARENA IN MOUND <br /> funding in the past. Peggy Watson made <br /> a motion to recommend that Orono contribute <br /> to the fund for the Westonka Ice and Recrea- <br /> tion Center from monies in the Park Dedication <br /> Fund. Virginia Sweatt seconded the motion. <br /> Two members of the commission voted for it and <br /> two were against. <br /> Lee Tomlinson made a motion that the Park FORFEITED PROPERTY <br /> Commission recommend that Lot 6 of Ora Park <br /> not be accepted for recreational use . Seconded <br /> by B. Peterson . Passed <br />
