� <br /> �� � <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> PARK COMMISSION <br /> Regular meeting of the Orono Park Commission held June 3, 1980. <br /> The Orono Park Commission met on the above ATTENDANCE <br /> date with the following members present: <br /> Chairman Tomlinson, Watson, Massengale, <br /> Kelley, and Goetten. Not Present: Erger, <br /> and Peterson. Also present were Toni <br /> Berglund Director of Orono Community <br /> Services and Mr. Bill Reese. <br /> The minutes of the May meeting were read MINUTES <br /> and approved. <br /> The Park Commission met at Orono Golf Course PROPOSED SKI SCHOOL <br /> with Bill Reese and Toni Berglund to discuss <br /> plans for a proposed ski school program; Reese <br /> showed the Park Commission members the general <br /> layout for skiing on the golf course grounds. <br /> Qualified instructors will be hired to assist <br /> Bill Reese with this program. Discussion <br /> involved: <br /> 1. Cost <br /> Adults 8-lhr. lessons $40. 00 <br /> Juniors 8-lhr. lessons $32. 00 <br /> Private lessons will also be available. <br /> 2. Check with Ski-Tonka to see what <br /> eq�ipment is available. ' <br /> 3. Is parking lot adequate. <br /> 4. Lighting for evening classes <br /> 5. Food/Hot drink service. <br /> 6. Local ski rentals. <br /> 7. Available pratice time. <br /> 8. Use of Golf Course on off nights. <br /> Commission members are concerned about insurance <br /> liability and this will be looked into by Tomlinson. <br /> Berglund stated that Community Services will handle <br /> all advertising and registrations. <br /> The Park Commission continued their meeting PARKS VISITED <br /> while on tour of various park properties in <br /> Orono. The parks we visited are listed <br /> below with comments from commission members. <br />
