Not <br /> Present: Peterson and Watson. <br /> The minutes of tne November meeting were MINUTES <br /> read and approved. <br /> Tomlinaon informed the Park Commission <br /> tYiat Deborah Massengale was officially <br /> appointed a member of the Park Commission <br /> by tne City Council. � <br /> A draft of the comprehensive plan was COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> recently sent to all Park Commission <br /> members by Dick Benson. This guideline <br /> will serve to help us define the future <br /> role oP the Park Co�niasion. <br /> Tomlinson asked the Park Commission BICYCL� SAF`ETY PROGRAM <br /> membera their views on a Bicycle Safety <br /> Program for our area. He had an applica- <br /> tion for a grant from the University of <br /> Minnesota to promote bicycle safety sent <br /> to Chief Kilbo that would provide: <br /> 1 . State Registration of Bikea <br /> 2, SaPety Checks <br /> . 3. Spot checks <br /> Motion to that effect was made by Goetten, MOTION WAS MADE <br /> seconded by Kelley that the Park Commission <br /> encourage the application by the Orono Police <br /> Department to seek f�znda to be used in a Bicycle <br /> Safe�y Program. <br /> Massengale s�ated that ahe is seeking approval SIIRVEY <br /> from the University of Minnesota for credit <br /> regarding the com�nunity survey to be taken. <br /> Discussion oP the upcoming survey fol.lowed <br /> by Park Co�nission members and it was pro- <br /> • • posed that a special meeting be held including <br /> council and Planning Coman3.ss�on members to <br /> lay out the guidelines for the surve9 and the <br /> Administrative methods by which the aurvey <br /> will be conducted.
