� - � <br /> CITY OF ORONO - <br /> PARK COMMISSION <br /> Regular meeting of the Orono Park Com¢nission held January 9, 1979. <br /> The Orono Park Commission met on the above date ATTENDANCE <br /> with the Pollowi.ng members present: Chairman <br /> Toralinson, Berglund, �rger, Kelley, Peterson, <br /> Watson. ATot present: None <br /> Also in attendance was prospective new member, <br /> J. Diann Goetten. <br /> NEW MEMBER <br /> The Existing Commission voted to recommend to <br /> the council that Ms. Goetten be appointed as a <br /> permanent member of the cou�rnission, filling the <br /> vaca.ncy left by the e.xpiration of the term of <br /> Wa�.t Lathrop. <br /> Chairman Tomlinson presented a copy of the letter DAYTON PROPERTY <br /> from city Manager Dick Benson, to Mr. Bruce Da9ton <br /> acknowledging the completed transPer of the Suimnit <br /> Park property to the city, and thanki.ng hi.m Por it. <br /> The Corr�ai.ssion discussed possible denelopments at <br /> Summit Park, including the erection of some sort <br /> of access control, development of the beach, and <br /> picnic facilities. <br /> The city staff is still examining the status oP CITY LAKESHORE <br /> the city owned lakeshore property on Forest Lake. FOREST LAKE. <br /> A new park dedication ordinance has been drafted NEW ORDINANCE <br /> by the City Attorney. The city staff has asked � <br /> for co�enta b�r the Park Commission. Several <br /> questions have been raised by the cot�rnissioners, <br /> the answers to which may affect our opinion of <br /> the proposed ordinance, to wit: <br /> 1 . Is the money already collected currently <br /> kept in a separate Pund? <br /> 2. Will the roll of the park corr�nission <br /> change under this new ordinance. <br /> 3. Is d.isbursement from the park dedi- <br /> cation ftiind required by this ordinance. <br /> t�.. IInder the new ordinance wi.11 there be <br /> a change in the "Recreational" status <br /> of the Orono Golf Course. <br /> �ese and other questions will be asked of the City <br /> Attorney, and City Staff. A1so, chairman Tomlinson <br /> is planning to stop at Bloomington City Offices to <br /> see what changes in their Park Dedication fee ordinance <br />
