B�GLUND <br /> One vacancy still exists on the commission. PROSPECTIVE I�IEI�iBER: <br /> Barbara Peterson, 2170 Minnetonka Avenue, BARBARA PET�RSON <br /> Crystal Bay, has been contacted regarding ser- <br /> vice on the commission. The board recommer_ded <br /> to the chairman that she be invited to our next <br /> meeting to get acquainted. <br /> P,eports on current pro jects: Per the corr�mis- <br /> �ion' s instructions, tne chairman has sent memos <br /> to the city staff on several subjects, <br /> specifically: - CURRENT PROJECTS: <br /> 1 . Prompt, continuali on-going projects � . PARK PRO JECTS <br /> in the spring. <br /> 2. Street lighting in tne vicinity of 2. STREET LIGHTING <br /> playgrounds. Bike/Hike Trail recommendations to <br /> Hennepin County Highway Department <br /> (Scheduled on council agenda for <br /> 1 /9/78 meetin,g. ) <br /> The council held a public hearing regarding SANDY BEACH PETITION, <br /> the Sandy Beach petition. Chairman Tomlinson HEARING <br /> restated at this hearing this commission' s <br /> recommendation that the beach not be closed. <br /> Except for the petitioners, the turnout for <br /> tne hearing was strongly in favor of retaining <br /> the beach; although better automobile, pet and <br /> children controls were urged. The council de- <br /> clined to accept the request of the petition. <br /> Ln conjunction, the cozzncil suggested a study S�CTDY OF BE.ACHES & T`AT�: <br /> �be undertaken by the Park Commission of all of ACCESSES <br /> the city ' s beach and lake access properties. <br /> When a map an d list of all these properties are <br /> secured, by our next meeting the Park Com- <br />
