CITY OF ORONO <br /> Regular meeting of the �rono Park Commission, 7: 30 P.M. <br /> Decemtkr l�, 1976 <br /> The Orono Park Commission met on the above date <br /> with the following members present: Chairman <br /> Lathrop, Berglund, Hurr, and Peasley. Absent: <br /> Ka�lestad. John Gerhardson was also present. <br /> Bob Klein of Miracle-Jamison Recreation Equip. MIRACLE-JAMISON <br /> Co. spoke about his products, their construction, EQUIPMENT C0. <br /> cost and h�w they would fit into our plan for <br /> park equipment. <br /> Steve King of Landscape Structures, Inc. presented LANDSCAPE STRUCTURE, <br /> his line of wooden play equipment. INC. <br /> Chairman Lathrop requested our approval for SNOWMOBILE TRAIL <br /> a snowmobile trail along the creek bed in BEDERWOOD PARK <br /> Bederwood Park. Discussion concerned this <br /> being a temporary allowance since the park <br /> is not yet�developed. Hurr questioned <br /> their stayin� on a "marked path. " This <br /> would have to be approved by the Council <br /> because current ordinance allows no motorized <br /> vehicles in parks. <br /> Hennipen County is requesting approval of SNOGJMOBILE RAMP <br /> a ramp for snowmobiles on Crystal Bay at <br /> the end of Tonkawa Road, ��135. The exact <br /> size or material used in construction of <br /> this ramp was not clear. The Park Commission <br /> felt that the LMCD must be notified concerning <br /> their restrictions; <br /> l. That anything be temporary, <br /> 2. If of snow, it must not contain road salt, <br /> 3. Be small enough to not be a ramp for automobiles. <br /> The idea of wood for easy removal was suggested. <br /> They are going to put up snowmobile crossing SNOWMOBILE CROSSING <br /> signs on ��51 and on both sides of ��135 SIGNS <br /> Prospective new member, Les Kelly, was accepted <br /> by the Commission.
