�ITY OF ORONO <br /> Regular lyieeting of the Orono Park Commissioa, 8:00 P.M. <br /> May 20, 1975 <br /> The Orono Park Commission met on the above <br /> date with the following members present: <br /> Chairman Ophe�m, Hallowell, Kallestad, <br /> and Peasley. Absenta Berglund, Kub$1sky, <br /> Leipold, Oberhauser,Panuska, and Romain. <br /> A�so present: Otto Christiansen of �#ennepin <br /> County, Bill Wear and Bud Hasty of the Orono <br /> Optimists. <br /> There �tas a disCus�ion of tHe HackberL^y Hills HACKBERRY PARK PLAN <br /> Park plan which is proposed to include hockey, <br /> general skating, picnic area, sliding, two <br /> baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and a general <br /> play area. A preliminary blueprint was presented <br /> for the consideration of the Park Commission <br /> members and will be presented to the Council at <br /> their next meeting. <br /> Hallowell moved, Peasley seconded, that the Park MULTI-COMMUNITY TRAILS <br /> Commission recommend to the Council that the COMMITTEE <br /> chairman of the trails committee will automatically <br /> becomP our representative to the Joint Trails <br /> commission. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> Mrs. Pat Dickey contacted the Park Commission LUCE LINE PARK PROPERTY <br /> regarding 22 acres of woods adjoining the Luce <br /> Line �aest of Willow Drive, that she would like <br /> to offer for sale as a nature park. Chairman <br /> Opheim would like all Park Commission members <br /> view this property prior to the next meeting so <br /> all can discuss this. (Contact Mrs. Dickey at <br /> 473-5105 for directions) . <br /> Hallowell moved, Kallestad seconded, that the BIRE TRAILS <br /> Park Commission recommend to the Council that <br /> any fu.ture road or bridge development and/or <br /> improvem�nt include provision for a bike trail <br /> as def�.�.�ed :..: the I'_er_negin County June 1974 <br /> Bike �,Tays Feasibility Report. Elotion, Ayes (4) - <br /> Nays (0) , <br /> Berglund and Peasley attended the North Shore NORTH SHORE COMMUNITY <br /> Community Council meeting and both plan t� attend COUNCIL <br /> the next meeting. Peasley reported Wayzata will <br /> be leaving the Council within the next year or <br /> two and will be starting their own recreation <br /> program leaving a gap in the Council swim programs. <br /> fIal'owell moved, Kallestad seconded, that the ADJOURNB�iENT <br /> meeting be adjourned at 10a00 P.M.
