- � _ �• CITY OF ORONO <br /> Regular Azeeting of the Park Comm3,ssion, 8:00 P.M. <br /> November 19, 1974 <br /> The Park Commission met on the above date <br /> with the following members present: Chairman <br /> Opheim, Berglund, Hallowell, Lathrop, Leipold, <br /> Kubalsky, and Peasley. Absent: Burns, <br /> Oberhauser, and Panuska. Also present: <br /> Councilman Welsh, Nancy Kallestad, and Bill <br /> Wear, president of the Lake Niinnetonka Optimist <br /> Club. <br /> The Nlinutes of the Regular Meeting of October 15, PIINUTES <br /> 1974, were approved as read. <br /> Welsh, reporting on the Council's pos•ition on SNOWMOBILE TRAILS <br /> snowmobile trails, said they would consider <br /> snowmobile trails if the PaXk Commission <br /> presented an appropriate proposal. A discussion <br /> was held. Lathrop reported that the Skip Drifters <br /> will probably complete the necessary arrangements <br /> for the trail from the Luce Line to Baker Park <br /> in a couple of weeks. <br /> Mrs. Nancy Kallestad, 780 Old Crystal Bay Road, PROPOSED APPOINTMENT <br /> applied for membership on the Park Commission. Nancy Kallestad <br /> 4rs. Kallestad was interviewed by the members. <br /> Berglund moved, Leipold seconded, that Nancy <br /> Kallestad's name be presented to the Council <br /> for membership on the Park Commission to replace <br /> Pat Wysocky. Motion, Ayes (7) - Nays (0) . <br /> Councilman Welsh left the meeting. <br /> A letter was read from the Westonka League BIKE/HIKE TRAILS <br /> o£ Women Voters expressing their concern over <br /> the need for bike/hike trails along the main <br /> highways of the City. Opheim read his reply <br /> to them thanking them for their interest and <br /> suggesting they consid��r participating on a <br /> committee to establish a plan for bike/hike <br /> trailse <br /> Bill Wear, representing the Lake Minnetonka HACKBERRY PARK <br /> Optimist Club, presented a plan for putting Skating Rink <br /> a skating ring into Hackberry Park. A <br /> discussion followed. <br /> Leipold moved, Hallowell seconded, that we <br /> :ecommend to the Council that the Lake Minnetonka <br /> Optimist Club be allowed to put in an appropriate <br /> _.�ating rink at Hackberry Park, assuming that <br /> all health regulations are met, in accordance <br /> with the plan presentd by Mr. Wear. Motion, <br /> Ayes (7) - Nays (0) . <br />
