There caill be a meeting August 24 , <br /> 1971, i�ith the planners at 7: 30 P.Tt. to <br /> discuss cost and approach. It is }ioped we <br /> �vill be ready to present our rec{uests to <br /> tlie Council on September 13, 1971. <br /> Darrel Leipold. reported on possible use SANITATION PURIFICATION <br /> of tiie present Orono se�ver building and land, AREA <br /> (the ViZlage owns 40 acres) . He felt it <br /> could malce a lovely nature area with <br /> possibility as a skating rink in the winter <br /> since tt�ere is natural low and high areas <br /> situated among many trees . I-Ie will contact <br /> Dicic Benson and Bill Carlson f4r further <br /> information and to secure access to the <br /> building. <br /> Dr. Panuska reported on his investigation LUCE LINE RAILROAD <br /> of abandoned railroac� land on the Luce Trail System <br /> Line for a trail system. Title description <br /> of all the land involved is needed in order <br /> to be eligible for federal money, Possibly <br /> the area in auestion �vas originally a land <br /> grant, which could mean tne land would <br /> revert to its original owners . SKATING RINKS <br /> A letter tivill be sent to the Long Lake Fire <br /> Department to request their help in floodin� <br /> anci maintaining a rink on the north end of <br /> Hacicberry playground. Dr. Panuska �aill follow <br /> t]Zis up with per,onal contact. City water needs <br /> to be available and the land needs to be <br /> banked before it starts to snow. Dr. Panuska <br /> moved, Jarl seconded, that Casco Point Park, <br /> I�ackberry playground, and possibly Hill School <br /> be prepared for skating this winter.
