MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> Monday,January 28, 2013 <br /> 5:00 p.m. <br /> Present: Mayor Lili McMillan, Council Members Kristi Anderson, Cynthia Bremer, Lizz Levang and Lizz <br /> Levang; representing Staff were City Administration Jessica Loftus,Assistant City <br /> Administrator for Long Term Strategy Mike Gaffron, and Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> Jesse Struve. <br /> Administrator Loftus noted at the regular meeting of January 14`h the City Council directed that <br /> reorganization of the city be placed on the January 28ih work session agenda. She was directed to <br /> evaluate positions in City Hall and postpone interviews for the City Clerk position until this was <br /> accomplished. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding proposed changes to the organizational chart and staff's recommendation <br /> to fill the City Clerk position. This item of the work session was tabled until after the regular meeting. <br /> The work session was reconvened and some members of the City Council noted they did not want to fill <br /> the City Clerk position. The City Council acknowledged this item will be placed on the February 11th <br /> regular agenda for formal action regarding the City Clerk position. <br /> Jim Grube, Hennepin County, discussed many of the issues in the Navarre area including options for <br /> improvements to the County Road 15 and 19 intersections. He will also attend the Feb. 11 Navarre <br /> community meeting to present options. <br /> Mr. Grube provided an update on the CSAH 112 Turnback. He presented a preliminary estimate of costs <br /> to rebuild 112 and it included optional costs for landscaping. Mr. Grube asked the City Council to think <br /> about the future of transit/busing along the corridor, speed limits, and whether a trail system is <br /> worthwhile? He noted a project Open House is scheduled for March. <br /> Council discussed the Miller property on Willow Drive and reached consensus to consider a purchase <br /> near the assessed value of the property. <br /> There were no comments regarding Information Update items. <br /> The meeting closed at 6:45 p.m, reconvened at 9:15 p.m. and closed at 10:27 p.m. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> -- - ' � �?^ �/(��-�-�'� <br /> < <br /> ess' a Loft�as,��ty d in trator Lili Tod McMillan Ma or <br /> , Y <br />
