� <br /> MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> Monday,September 12,2011 <br /> 5:30 p.m. <br /> Present: Mayor Lili McMillan, Council Members Doug Franchot and Aaron Printup. Representing Staff <br /> were City Administrator Jessica Loftus,Assistant City Administrator for Long Term Strategy <br /> Mike Gaffron, Planning&Zoning Coordinator Melanie Curtis, Building Official Lyle Oman, City <br /> Clerk Lin Vee and City Attorney Soren Mattick <br /> Oman presented information on properties that are in disrepair. Council directed staff to continue to <br /> pursue hazardous building action when complaints are received. Council also suggested that it may be <br /> helpful to have a list on file of parcels that the city may want to acquire in the future for city <br /> improvements such as stormwater management or parks. <br /> Mayor McMillan presented an updated version ofthe city logo and will continue to work with David <br /> Maass on the design. <br /> Gaffron reviewed the status of Lurton Park. Council discussed potential improvements, including the <br /> parking lot, picnic tables and benches, trails, vegetation and signage. A dedication ceremony will be <br /> planned for late October. <br /> Gaffron provided a brief history of the Crystal Bay Road city-owned lakeshore lots. Council discussed <br /> options for the lots and determined that the city will retain ownership of the four lakeshore lots under <br /> discussion. <br /> Discussion continued regarding the temporary sign samples provided by Curtis.
