� <br /> MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> Monday,July 11, 2011 <br /> 5:30 p.m. <br /> Present: Mayor Lili McMillan, Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Doug Franchot, Aaron Printup, and <br /> Dave Rahn. Representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director Ron <br /> Olson, Assistant City Administrator of Long Term Strategic Planning Mike Gaffron and City <br /> Clerk Lin Vee <br /> City Administrator Loftus provided information on road assessment policies of neighboring cities. While <br /> Orono currently doesn't assess for road improvements, about half of the cities assess a portion of the <br /> improvement costs to the affected property owners. Information will be provided to Council regarding <br /> discussion of assessments related to the Casco Point reconstruction project. <br /> The draft sketch for an updated logo was discussed. Mayor McMillan will work with David Maass to <br /> incorporate Council's suggested changes. <br /> City Administrator goals for 2011-2012 were reviewed. <br /> Council discussed the status of funding and options for improvements of MSA roads, including Old <br /> Crystal Bay Road, Willow Drive and Watertown Road. Utilities that are in need of improvements along <br /> Old Crystal Bay Road and old Highway 12 were also discussed.
