�'� " � r- <br /> � r ��� . <br /> �--.� , <br /> � , .. _ <br /> , ,. � ��,�.._.. ��'.tii'��'� >:_-,�-�� <br /> ��,^'`'��'"�� _,_..,.._,_.o�.,..�.. ..�.,-�..,,_... ._ . <br /> � _.�-:.,..�....�.._�.�. . .. <br /> ORONO PARK COI�]MMISSION �� �r<'�` �� �,,- �,. <br /> MINUTES............. /� f' fr ,° ' ,:�r <br /> /-'-�'-���r�'--'��,�G��,� � _:.€.�t <br /> ,•� <br /> � <br /> '1'he Re�ular Monthly Meeting of the Orono Park Commission was held <br /> A�ril 14, 1965, at the Lafayette Club. <br /> Members �resent were Chairman Panuska, Messrs, Dongoske, Otto and Dorrel <br /> Minutes of the March meeting wBse read and approved. <br /> Mr. Dongoske presented correspondence to the Hennepin County Highway <br /> Department regarding the Beach area at County Roads 15 and 51. <br /> Correspondence from the Boy Scout Viking Conncil regarding the <br /> Tonkawa property was also noted. <br /> lt was reported that the Swimming program of the North Shore Communi$y <br /> Council for t.he Orono area begins June 1l� and is over August 7th. <br /> Mot�ion made and seconded that the Park Commission recommend to the <br /> Village Council that a bill from the North Shore Community Council in j <br /> the amount of �250.00 be honored, representing services rendered for <br /> the 19h5 8eason. <br /> Mr. Goslin, as eoach of the Orono Hockey Pro�ram, kindly gave the Com�i.ssion <br /> his redommendations for the Hockey Program as re�ard the Orono Village ' <br /> and the Orono School District. In order to encourage Hockey in the area, <br /> se�7era1 nei�hborhood rinks would be the most practical means. Each, <br /> however, should have a warating house adjacent. <br /> Mr. Mixa commented on the theory of using marginal land areas for park <br /> purposes. <br /> � <br /> '1'he 'i'onka"area situation was discussed and after thoroughly �oing into the <br /> matt�r, it uras a�reed to ask the Village Council to offer a token bi d of <br /> �$.00 for the property in line with the request for bids by the Viking <br /> Council. <br /> Mr. George Johnson advised that a preliminary investigation did not indicate <br /> any difficulty involved in securing the Nurenberg property as a park area. <br /> The chairman asked that this be pursued further b� Mr. Johnson. <br /> Mrs. Knievel and interested members of the West Orono f�rea were present to <br /> discuss park areas for the Cmmmunity. <br /> Motion made and seconded that this group be appointed as a sub-committee <br /> for the purpose of investigating actual areas which might be available for <br /> park purposes. <br /> There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> R.E.Dorrel <br /> Secretary <br />
