ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 911995 • ROLL The Council met on the above date with the following members present: Mayor Edward Callahan Jr., Council Members J. Diann Goetten, Gabriel Jabbour, JoEllen Hurr, and Charles Kelley. Representing Staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, City Attorney Tom Barrett, Public Works Director John Gerhardson, Building and Zoning Administrator Jeanne Mabusth, Assistant Planning and Zoning Adminstrator Michael Gaffron, City Engineer Glenn Cook, and Recorder Sherry Frost. Mayor Callahan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. PRESENTATION - BOD HARDIN, WAYZATA AMERICAN LEGION TO LARRY TOMCHECK Members of the Wayzata American Legion Post presented an award to Officer Tomcheck for his heroic efforts in the life saving of Mr. Arneson in 1994 on Lake Minnetonka. Mr. Arneson was found unconscious after diving from his boat into shallow water near Big Island. Officer Tomcheck performed CPR awaiting the assistance of the Hennepin County Sheriffs Water Patrol. Tomcheck was congratulated by Mayor Callahan and the Orono City Council. ( * #1) CONSENT AGENDA • Items #3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 15 were added to the Consent Agenda, while 42 was removed. Jabbour moved, Goetten seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. Ayes 5, Nays 0. APPROVAL OF MINUTES ( #2) REGULAR MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 25, 1995 Jabbour said the minutes should include as part of the Mayor /Council Report a discussion regarding notifying the residents of Old Beach Road to remind them of their promise to ask the City of Minnetonka Beach for a left turn lane from County Road 15 onto Old Beach Road. This has not been attempted, and the Council needs to address this issue again. Jabbour moved, Hurr seconded, to approve the Minutes as amended of the Regular City Council Meeting of September 25, 1995 as amended. Ayes 5, Nays 0.
