This permit is nat transferabie without District approval, and is valid to the date of expira#ion. No
activit�r is authorized beyond the expiration date. If the permittee r�quires rnore time to complete
the project, an applica#i�n for renew�l of the permit must be received by the District at least 30
days before expiration.
The applicant is responsible for compliancs wifh all District Rwles and for the action of their
representatives, contractors, and employees.
Conditions: Project to be completed as described in plans submitted to the
MCWD office on March 18, 2016 according to the provisions of this permit.
� Properly install and m�intain all required erosion control mea�ures until the
disturbed areas are re-stabilized
• Notify MCWD in writing upon completing installation of perimeter and
sedimentation controls
• When the site is re-stabil'rzed and the MCWD staff has pertormed a final
inspectivn, all silt fences must be removed

Insaection/Analvsis/Monitorins� Fees
A site inspection and monitoring by District staff will be performed where the activity involves:
• a commerciaUindustriaUmulti-#amily residential de�elopment
• a single family residential development greater than 5 acres vr of any size if within the
Minnehaha Creek subwatershed
• any al#eration ofi a floodplain or we#land
• dredging within the beds, bar�ks or shores of any protected water or wetland
• a violation
• afly project wMich in the judgment of the District staff should be inspected due to project
location, sc�pe, or constructior�techniques
In fMese cases, the applicant shall pay to the District a fee equal to the actual costs of freld
inspection of the work, inclwding investigation of the area affected by the work, analysis of the
work, and any subsequent monitoring of tMe work, which in the case of a violation �hall pe at
least$35.

Dear Mr. Teynor:
We have been informed by the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District that you intend to install riprap on the
property at 2789 Pheasant Road in Orono, MN. Because riprap is often part of a larger project, we want to alert
you to some related City code provisions so you can avoid the hassle and expense of obtaining an after-the-fact
permit or even having to undo some of the work.
With few exceptions, including riprap and lakeshore steps, City code prohibits the installation of impervious
surfaces within 75 feet of the lake. Any sort of fabric is considered impervious. This means that riprap rock may
be extended farther than allowed by the riprap permit but no fabric may be installed under it.
The following activities require a permit from the City:
• Any earth movement outside the area where the rip rap will be placed
• Replacement of retaining walls and/or installation of new retaining walls within 75 feet of the lake (regardless of the
height of the walls)
• Construction or replacement of lakeshore steps
• Removal of trees(dead or alive)six inches in diameter or larger within 75 feet of the lake
• Removal of vegetation on any slope within 75 feet of the lake that is too steep to easily walk
• Removal of vegetation or trimming of trees larger than six feet to provide a view of the lake from the house
• Total or near total removal of vegetation within 75 feet of the lake not part of another permit

submit a permit application and plans for review. Additional information can be found at the City website,
