RE: Deck and Shed Construction
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Daly,
It has come to the attention of this department that you have recently constructed a deck
and a shed on your property at 605 Park Lane. This letter is to inform you that Building
Permits are required for deck and shed construction in the City of Orono and that decks
and sheds are required to meet building and zoning code requirements.
Therefore The City must require you to remove the deck and shed or submit a permit
application with building plans, hardcover calculations, and a survey showing the
location of the deck and shed. If the deck and shed are found to be in compliance a
permit will be issued. A deadline of December 15, 2003 has been established for
removal or application submittal. If this deadline is not met The City may initiate legal
action. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at my office.

Re: Deck construction without building permit
Dear Mr. Schall:
It has come to the attention of this department that you
have recently constructed a deck and a shed on your property.
This letter is to inform you that a building permit is
required f or deck and shed construction in the City of Orono.
The enclosed permit application and required submittals must be
received by the City no later than June 19, 1989. If this
deadline is not met, the City may issue citations.
In reviewing your file I noted that there are still
outstanding corrections on Building Permit #6186. They are as
follows:
1. Solid core fire door with closer required.
2. Laminated beam in garage must be protected with 5/8 type
X sheet rock and rough taped.
